The annual FOSS A.C.E. Previous inductees have included Adelina Abreu and Travis Parkinson, among others. The 2006 Attitude, Commitment, and Excellence (A.C.E.) Awards were presented to Michael Knox and Laura Bonser of the Davis & Elkins College Men’s and Women’s Soccer Teams.

In addition to honoring Martin and this year's A.C.E. Award recipients, FOSS also inducted graduating seniors from the Class of 2007 that performed regularly on the pitch for D&E over the past four years. Congratulations to Jose Maria Cantillo, Kara Dragan, Donald MacGregor and Robert Ryan.

Senior forward Makesi Bostic earned first team All-WVIAC and Daktronics All-Region for his play throughout the 2007 season.

On Saturday, October 13th, FOSS held a Membership Meeting at the Graceland Conference Center to discuss matters pertaining to the dedication of the McDonnell Center, membership, and strategic planning. Immediately following the meeting, a series of small-sided games were played on the auxillary soccer fields prior to the D&E-University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown match, which the men won 2-1 thanks to two penalty conversions by Matt Wood. Dr. Tom Martin, recipient of the 2007 FOSS Lifetime Achievement Award, was honored at halftime by FOSS along with members of the D&E Soccer teams and Athletic Director Ralph Hill. FOSS also recognized the following seniors of the men and women's teams for their many contributions to the program over their four-year careers during halftime of each match.

Makesi Bostic battles defenders from W.V. Wesleyan in the 2007 WVIAC Conference Tournament Final played at D&E on 11.3.07.

The D&E women followed with an impressive outing against WVIAC leader, West Virginia Wesleyan College, but could not find the back of the net despite repeated attempts by the team throughout the day. Wesleyan hung on to defeat D&E, 1-0, on a first half goal that found its way into the net off a deflection following a clearing attempt.

Later on Saturday, FOSS members joined President Tom Mann and representatives of the D&E Board of Trustees, along with Ralph Hill, Athletic Director, for the grand opening and dedication of the new gymnasium. What an event it was! Visit www.davisandelkins.edu for a complete recap on the dedication ceremony.
